The baraat (procession) along with the groom had reached the bride’s house on time. Preparations for the Nikaah began. As soon as the talk of reading the Nikaah increased, the matter took a new turn and suddenly the groom’s first wife Nazneen Khatoon started creating a ruckus. At first, people did not understand the matter amid the ruckus. After that, the first wife placed her court marriage agreement in front of everyone amidst the huge baraat. The first wife told that after getting acquainted through Facebook, both of them had a love marriage. After that, both of them had a court marriage.

Upon hearing this, the family of the second wife held the entire baraat including the groom Abdul Qadir alias Chhedi hostage. The bride also refused to marry. After a lot of uproar, the villagers and the girl’s father Kalimuddin Naddaf and the groom’s father decided that the groom would be allowed to go back only after paying the three lakh rupees spent on the wedding. Late on Monday evening, the groom’s side returned three lakh rupees to the bride’s side. Only then could the groom Abdul Qadir be freed.

Here, it is being told that the villagers kept the groom hostage for more than 24 hours. But Biraul police could not even get a clue of this.
